I'm out of school for the summer, which means I'll be able to get to conlanging, conworlding, and writing more often. I've been working on Réziko a lot lately (check Zarahemla, my website, for more info on the language). I've changed the orthography a bit so that it is more suiting to my likings. I hope to complete the syntax by the end of the week.
I'll fly off to Washington, D.C. this weekend to participate in the National Spelling Bee. It'll be on TV, but don't hope to see me there. Only the last rounds are broadcast, and I probably won't make it that far. You may think I'm just being negative, but seriously, I haven't stuided nearly enough. The other contestants have been working for this for years, and I got in by a fluke.
I've been reading the Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien and the Silmarillion for the first time -- reading S. as a novel and reading passages from Letters every so often. Very interesting.
I've begun a new conmythology that is based lightly on certain North American Indian beliefs combined with Inuit and other sources. Most of the deities have traces in Iroquois or Uto-Aztec tribal beliefs. There is a 'supreme god', Hisgîtem (the name is temporary, based on Hisagita-imisi, the Solar Deity from Creek mythology, but will probably be changed to have a Réziko meaning). Hisgîtem, however, splits into two forms, becoming the body and the spirit, and thus physically does not exist anymore as his body and spirit take seperate characters. However, the 'memory' of Hisgîtem is considered to be presently real, and it is what holds the sky and the Earth togethor.
Ammon stared out the window as the sun rose slowly over the trees in the distance. It's orange shape stared back at him, reflecting across the lake. The birds awoke with the sun, suddenly fluttering around Ammon's window chirping merrily. One cardinal landed inches from his hand, beside the drapes that blew restlessly in the quiet breeze. The bird turned its red head to Ammon's face and chirped. He didn't smile. He rarely did these days. The bird was free, free to fly where ever it pleased. It could sing as loud as it wanted. Its freedom was just a reminder of Ammon's imprisonment -- a reminder of his unhappiness.
Well...let's see. To start off with, I'd like to wish everyone a happy Easter weekend!
I've done a little with the Réziko grammar. The inflectional morphology and pronoun system is up. I'm working on syntax at the moment, I hope to get it up. The lexicon is ~340. I may not meet my quota of 500 by Monday. Maybe 400, but I can't really be sure of that either. I haven't been able to do any conlanging today.
Apparently Whimemsz found out my name and school. I just hope he doesn't tell Spacey.
Also, I decided fanfiction bores me. And I don't understand why people write, enjoy, or even read slash fanfiction. It's stupid.
The Réziko lexicon is at 250 words. Believe it or not, despite its minuscule size, it may be the most expansive lexicon I've ever had for a conlang. I usually don't get this far. The phonology has been updated as well, a Babel Text has been added, and I've put up a Réziko Numerals page.
Check out the Conlang Exchange community I've set up. A lot of people have joined already. Everyone comes and post little snippets of their conlang or translations, usually stuff that doesn't warrant its on thread at the ZBB.
I'm out for spring break! I'll be off all this week and next Monday. I'll get some definite conlanging done this week. I hope to get the Réziko lexicon up to 500 by Monday and I hope to have the grammar up.
And there's a Green Acres marathon on TV Land right now...woohoo...

Hello!!! *cough* My new website is up: <a href="http://www.zarahemla.vzz.netZarahemla Online. Check out my Cherokee Phonology page!!! Lots of hard work and research went into that, and a lot of e-mails were sent to people for info. I'm very proud of it =)
Next year I plan on taking both Algebra I and Geometry. In 10th grade I'll take Algebra II. That'll put me into Advanced Math in 11th, and hopefully Calculus in my senion year. Also, guys can never pass algebra because it has the word 'bra' in the name.
I know all of my loyal readers have been waiting for this...A NEW POST!!! It has been a while, after all, but don't flood me all at once. Everyone form a single-file line straight at the comments page.
*cough* Anyway, I just finished LEAP today. Finally. We've been doing these standardized tests all week, and I'm glad to get them over with. Oh yeah, our principals a psycopath. Eddy would call this sexist, but its because she's a woman. WOMEN HAVE TO CONTROL EVERYTHING!!! (just kidding...no one flame me pwease)
As far as conworlding and conlanging goes, I haven't done a bloody thing in weeks. I started a conlang that I call Reziko, which is inflecting, and its pretty good so far, but I stopped working on it. I'll get back to it eventually. I've twiddled with some conworld and conculture ideas, but I currently have not experianced any true insipiration. I want a fresh start, and something entirely new to work on.
Mom got her income tax back, which means $50 for me. Woohoo. Office Depot, here I come. That store rocks, btw. Rocks your socks, it will. *cough*
Got report cards today. #### teacher gave me a B!!! Why?! I did much more work in that clas than anybody else...it was only an English Prep class!!! I think she took away points for me talking, and if thats the case, I plan on having a word with her Monday. She isn't going to ruin my good-luck streak for this year because of something that is entirely unreleated to academia. All other grades were good, though -- I pulled my pre-algebra grade up to a 98. I am very proud. =) *cough*
Did I mention my principal is insane? Ok.
Random fact for the day: 'Deseret', the former name of Utah before it became a state, is from a Book of Mormon word that means 'honeybee'. It was called so because, as bees in a hive, everyone worked togethor to create a thriving and efficient community.
I got 3rd place in the school spelling bee last week. Onto regionals I go! I got beat by a 7th grader though...so I probably won't make it very far. Might've helped if I'd studied, though.
Okay, those are my rants for today. First person to leave a comment gets a cookie.
I'm sick =( Just a fever, though; I think I'll live.
I've been working on my people over at ONW (Our New World), and you can find information about their culture here. I've recently begun working on their language (Tazg xe Ngar) grammar. It's isolating and SVO word order. Also has some wierd consanant clusters. Another interesting thing in the phonology is lateral dental fricatives. Here's a sample sentence:
Qer' desxl Zaxorg gretzal! Hin t`e xal mqult `fa qer'. 1P - to be - Zaxorg - great! Indef.pro. - plural - should - to go - to - 1P. I am the great Zaxorg! All should come unto me!
